Super Fun Go Kart Track. We had so much fun squishing our heads in these helmets and racing today:) Sometimes you have to take an hour out of your busy Monday morning and play and that is exactly what we did today!
On Christmas Day… YES THIS HAPPENED!!!
Matt and Kalyssa surprised me with my very own Commercial Snowie Maker for my Kitchen!!! Say What?!?! I am in still in shock! This is a dream come true for this girl. Anybody close to me knows how big of a deal this is!!! I have loved ice ever since I can remember. haha I love the pic of me eating the snow because it is so me. It’s pretty ridiculous how much I love and crave ice. It doesn’t matter if it is cubed, pellet, crushed, or a snowie I will eat it:) Although some ice of course is better than others. It’s pretty sad when you remember a restaurant by their ice and not their food lol! But anyways that’s me and I am in Snowie Heaven Right Now!!!
So of course we all had Snowies for Breakfast on Christmas Morning which was pretty much amazing! I am so excited to have access to a snowie 365 days a year 24/7 and over 45 flavors to choose from. No more having to drive to the Grocery Store Parking Lots to try and find a Snow Shack. No more having to go all winter without a snowie. haha anyways so here is the scoop on the snowie machine. There was this one Snow Shack that had the best soft ice, so after going there so many times I peeked inside one time to see what the name of the machine they used was and so that way I would know if I ever did get one. The model name on the machine read Snowie 1000 Shaver. Little did I know Matt was going to surprise me with it this year for Christmas!!! The maker of the Snowie Machine I have is actually based right here in SLC, UT. Which is really cool… I had no idea! Here is the link to their site http://snowie.com
Fun filled day…
Kalyssa had so much fun playing with her remote control Helicopter and car:) These were the 2 items at the top of her Christmas list this year:) We also had fun playing a little Electronic Battleship. Brought back memories… I used to love that game when I was a kid.
Kalyssa was so cute and surprised Matt and I with new mugs for Christmas. She had picked out a GreenBay packers one for me and a Seattle Seahawks one for Matt.
Matt discovered a new talent he has which is making balloon animals LOL! Between the snowies and the balloon animals around our house on Christmas it pretty much felt like we were at the fair or a carnival!!!
Kalyssa got a couple new Pajama shirts. One of them being Tom and Jerry, which is her fav cartoon!
We all got for Christmas one of our fav cereal, which is a fun lil tradition that I had when I was a kid and loved….every year I always would get a box of Oh’s they were my fav:)
We had a delicious chicken and rice crockpot dinner and then topped it off with a Chocolate Chip Skookie. If you do not own a Skookie pan, you should! They are so fun and nice to have and there are so many fun recipes you can use them for besides cookies. I ended up getting a ton of friends The Skookie Set this year as presents and while ordering had to add an extra one in there for us to have:)
Christmas Eve we made early reservations downtown for dinner and had Matt’s parents join us for a delicious dinner together:) Of course after dinner we drove by and saw the Beautiful Salt Lake Temple Lights. Then we headed over to Christmas Street to see the lights there and next drove down the Neighborhood that every year participates in having Luke Chapter 2 versus displayed outside on each yard. We each took turns reading a verse as we drove and did the full loop around the neighborhood.
Once home we read Christmas stories together, opened Christmas Eve Gifts, of course tracked Santa a ton, and then off to bed we went.
This holiday season we made it a goal as a family to really focus on the true meaning of Christmas and Coming to know our Savior and what gifts we can give him. I saved these last 5 stories (posted below) to read as a family Christmas Eve Night before bed. Knowing that when we woke up Christmas Morning filled with excitement and surrounded with gifts, that we were remembering Christ the greatest gift of all, and the true meaning of Christmas!
Below are the stories we read on Christmas Eve. Click on the individual links below to read each one:
Danny’s Birthday is here in a couple of weeks and boy do we miss him!

We are so proud of Kalyssa! This lil girl has worked so hard! Not only did she get straight A’s this quarter she also was chosen to receive the dragon leader award which was given to the top ten 5th graders in the school:) I know this may not seem like a big deal to some but considering the last 2 years we have dealt with her teachers moving halfway into the year and then her having different substitutes and inconsistency causing her to get behind. For the last year and a half she has consistently been going to Mathnasium everyday after school for an hour and it has helped her so much! She is now completely caught up to where she should be and talking with the Mathnasium director their goal now is to get her ahead a couple of grades in math so she continues to have that confidence #dragonleader #proudparents #mathissoimportant #mathnasium
Here is another Family Home Evening we did last year in December. I can’t help but cry everytime I hear this song… it is so powerful! Without fail, although I have heard this song hundreds of times, the last half of the song brings tears streaming down my face everytime. Is it just me or is there anyone that can make it through the whole song without shedding at least one tear?! Let us Remember the Christ in Christmas this Holiday season!
